Reid Christie was born and raised in Wyoming, where he currently resides. Composition, design and lighting are integral to his work. He desires his paintings to be never ending symphonies through which viewers' eyes keep moving and never leaving. Reid's work is exhibited in several museum shows each year including the National Museum of Wildlife Art and the C.M. Russell Museum. "Yellowstone Monarch" depicts a bison bull Reid observed in Cody, Wyoming, near the east entrance to Yellowstone National Park.
